A couple of us gay men have been looking for a place to hold a gay men's coffee night in Kelowna since the regular drop in at the Bean Scene was closed down. We now have a place to start this. We are not associated with any group or organization, just some guys that wanted to bring gay men together over coffee.
You can join us tonight,
Wednesday, August 24 from 7 to 9pm. Its at the Kelowna Drop In,
467 Leon Avenue, Kelowna. We will do this every Wednesday for six weeks to determine if there is enough interest!

River Float in Pentiction!
The South Okanagan Gay and Lesbian Association is hosting a River Float!The event will take place on
August 27, 2005. Meet at Coyote Cruises on Riverside Drive at 2pm. The float is a lot of fun and an opportunity to meet some folks from the South Okanagan and I bet they have a few people show up from Kelowna, the Kootenay's and maybe elsewhere.

An Exploration of the Down-Low Identity:
Nongay-Identified Young African-American Men Who Have Sex with MenThere are not many studies on this issue. It is an interesting area to explore further. Currently I am involved in a survey of Nongay-Identified Men Who Have Sex with Men in BC.The survey will hopefully add to the degree of knowledge we have on people and their sexual behaviour with respect to prevention of STD's (STI's) and HIV. The survey is being conducted for the BC Centre for Diesease Control by Interior BC agencies. The lead agency is
Living Positive Okanagan.
